Some People

THERE IS NO RULES IN MY INK WORLD

Here is a page of random characters I have done over the years sketchbooks, I did not sort out my best characters for this page. I am overrun with my characters here, I can’t control them of implement some kinda law for them…

Whaleshark, Ningaloo

I am obsessed with sharks they are incredible predators… and it is so sad the shark sanctuaries are being wiped out due to shark finning and other ridiculous  reasons… We need to protect the oceans because most of life is supported by the ocean, and if sharks vanish this could have repercussions on the eco system...

People have this stigma on sharks because of JAWS, sharks are NOT man eaters…

Some Sketch Book Material...

I was going through some of my older sketchbooks recently, and I found some location material, I really enjoy on location drawing, its loose and challenging at times which teaches you too really pay attention to detail, and you’re outside in the elements getting some fresh air…

Summer is around the corner so I think I am gonna get my pens, my bike and sketchbook and take a ride to find me some new material… I find it hard to draw with thick gloves on in the winter, and riding a bike in the snow is not the most practical way to travel…

Man I love the heat… Tee’s, shorts and no shoes, maybe flip flops, is the way to go...

Ready For A Bike Ride???

Maybe you should change your top before we head out, it’s a bit chilly!!! Then we could go for a bike ride…

It has been so amazing out, loving the warmth heaps, gonna set up a permanent summer life… Gotta do it.

Mechanical Stuff is FUN

I have something for symmetrical shapes and mechanical parts, I am a sucker for positive and negative space… These are a couple of character I developed from some rough sketches I did from one of my sketch books, I did this in Illustrator, because Illustrator is epic and super fun to use to create awesome symmetrical shapes and mechanical parts… It’s a good time...

PC in the kitchen

This drawing was done in Cairns Australia, this one backpacker had his pc with him and would bring it out every day into the camp kitchen to listen to his metal… He was living out of a camper van…

Just something I thought was different…

I have some interesting drawings from down in Oz…

Up North East Down Under

I did this sketch in  North East Oz at Cape Tribulation on a beach where we camped a night. Was an amazing place to pull over and crash for the night… That whole region is amazing that side where the rainforest meets the ocean… BEAUTY…

I photoshopped the drawing and then removed the original line work… Then played with the colour’s… :)

Peterborough and Lakefield In Winter…

These were taken a few months back using a special something on the lense… I really enjoy the combination  of old architecture and black and white photography, I just like grungy dirty old random areas, I feel as though I am always drawn to this type of environment….

These where taken locally around the area where I currently reside…

One Thing I Miss A Lot...

So there is one thing I miss so much about the life style in the tropics or any hot climate is wearing no shoes, I truly love being bare foot... Jill and I did hikes in gorges in Australia in bare feet and it was the best thing ever... I love my feet being dirty… Hence my site…

I also got kicked out of Bulkbarn here for being bare foot… Kids were pointing at me and telling the mothers, it was like I was an alien… hahaha... I was almost done when I was asked to leave. Geeze…

So I hate wearing shoes, or at least closed shoes…

My Printed Doodle

I have been wanting to print one of my doodles for a while now, so I thought why not now, now is as good a time than any… So this is what I did.

I am really one for drawing small blowing it up larger. I love the line quality that pops out with this type of work process… Makes me want to draw even smaller to see what different types of line I can bring out with enlarging images.

Well blah blah… This is my result.

What does this mean?

So this ghostly figure was in my dream while in Australia… I found her while I was going through some of my Australia files from our trip in 2009… And found her. I don’t remember that dream at all but she was defiantly in it, looking just like this with the blue glowing colour and that sad looking doll…

Maybe I need an Art Therapist? Maybe my sister in-law can help... hhaahah, Who knows...

Why don’t we have FUR like every other Animal in the frozen north...

So I think the time has come for me to announce that I am not to keen on the snow and ice anymore… The only thing I like about it now is going snowboarding, because it is soooo epic… Other than that it has hit me that I love the sun all year round… If I was meant to live in Snow I would be as furry as a Yeti’s that live here… I would not need massive coats and a house (Cave) with insulation… HAhahaha… This day has come…

AND I miss the surf, it has captured me and is always calling me...

Puke from up above...

I came across this drawing this morning and thought to put it up. I did this while in Australia… I remember developing this type of masked character by accident while doodling… I have heaps more masked characters that I will try and throw on here soon. Just have to round them up...

This is a true story, this happens when you have a, not to heavy duty roof rack with strong winds coming from the right of you trying to blow you into the ditch, while passing a truck going about 100km while your going 100km, that is force at about 200 kilometres an hour … Luckily the winds blowing from the right of us blew all our luggage to the side of the road not killing anyone...

You wanna make that purchase?

I have been thinking about how these day’s too many people are buying too many things for too many of the wrong reasons. Success comes from within yourself and only you can see it and feel it… People see it from the outside with what you own and do as a living to get those wonderful objects you gain…

People buy boxed food because life is rushing buy and don’t even have time to cook a healthy nutritious meal these days because they work to much…

Don’t sweat, Just relax and smile, try not stress about that J.O.B. Stop to watch the sun go down… Don’t worry about the that race to much… No one is going to try and pass you… Work is important and is good, but priorities life...

The bad smell of the EVIL MIDJET CLOWN…

This EMC has power to even overrun the long arm of the LAW, no one knows how he does it, but he does. He has a really dirty mouth and does not know how to talk in a civil manner, he also suffers from chest pains once and a while, people think he uses it to get out of trouble… But has never been proven.

Doodles I Enjoy

Here is some of my doodle sketchbook work. I find drawing without thinking is fun and relaxing and can generate interesting images that can help with new concepts and spark inspiration...

My sketchbook got soaked… Always use waterproof INK...

These characters where drawn while observing the customers and employees in McDonalds down in Fremantle, Western Australia while we were abuseing the free internet almost everyday, I remember all travellers would rush for the power outlet, sometimes we had to be in the smell of grease for a bit long due to waiting for power because our laptop almost dead to us…
GOOD TIME...

Arenal Volcano Prints For Sale

I am selling 2 of 3 Prints of the Volcano, printed 7inches by 19½inches at high Resolution onVelvet Fine Art Paper framed in 18 by 24inch frame. If you are interested they are $300. Drop me a line if you’re keen.

A Brief Costa Rican Trip

We hit Costa Rica recently, what an awesome place, great people, beautiful weather, hot sand on the beaches leading into warm pacific water. The coast has a dry climate, but when you head up into the mountains it’s a tropical rainforest that starts to get thick about 2hrs inland, go further and you hit a town called La Fortuna built around the active Arenal volcano, an amazing site. There are hot springs and waterfalls to explore and to cool off in if the sun is winning.

Went down to the surf break witches rock (Endless Summer II) which is only accessible by boat or by 4WD in the dry season (only by boat in the wet season). It was a fun 18km drive or so! The surf at Witches rock was fun and quiet down that side with only a few fellow campers. We camped with Iguanas, racoons (that tried to walk off with our garbage), parrots, and all sorts of wildlife everywhere. BEAUTY… We were there off season for surf, but still got some barrels and sections to launch off of.

Costa Ricans have a humble way of life, everyone is stoked and loving life there, great food, great people, great inspiration. Check it out...
